Ageing Auto-mobiles

Old cars lie in the moist untrimmed ground.
Each car has a story of it's own,
it's home,
and a sad broken face. They look solemn in the way they have been mistreated and had their days of starlight shattered;
they're left in a motor graveyard.
They only have each other in this field,
although all of them are helpless.
A deep swamp of grass grows fond of the rusted,
deflated vehicles,
and climbs to the highest it can to observe the army of once loved cars.
It seems that they're all still dreaming of the glory they once had.
They're no longer a member of the adrenaline infused young drivers,
and as a life grows old and weak,
it is soon replaced by a new improved generation.
Whilst the metal rusts and spreads,
the evergreen wildlife continues to live and grow,
almost as though it's looking down on the graveyard,
somewhat disguising the melancholy atmosphere.
In the stomach of these bewildered cages are the remains of a soft leather interior.
Keep still and you can hear the whines and groans of the aching hinges;
heartbroken.
All that these dispirited auto-mobiles can do
is sit,
wait,
and hope.
