I Belong To Her

The adventures I’ve gone through to get to where I am today. To exist.
Slipped in and out of an old pair of Vans, whirling round and round a washing machine; watching the world spin and being ripped off after running in the rain.
Now I lie here, white clouds surrounding me like I’m in heaven, I’m ready to be born. It’s my time. As I am cut into segments, sectioned in funny shapes and sizes, all chopped up ready to be amended, I deliver all myself.
Threads are weaved through me putting me back together again, releasing my old life and embracing what is yet to come. The puffy clouds of heaven stuffed inside me, making me feel whole, giving me life. Assembling parts of me that are in an odd form, pinching into my new seams. Buttons that sew through, giving me sight for the very first time. I instantly decide the world is beautiful and I smile as the red thread knits and stitches through me. A neverending grin. I feel complete.
Before I know it, I’m being passed on to many hands until one remains grip. I focus and catch a flash, a sparkle, a reflection in a little girl's joyful eyes.
I am a sock monkey and I belong to her!

Delightful. Simple pleasures. There's a real sense of joy in this, and a little bit of mischief too!
