She sent bad karma out like racer pigeons,
like dominoes,
like cigarette ash in the eye of a cat.

The maybe of a beginning is an undersheet
as she sits in her bedroom elbow grumping
into the piano.

She blames her friends, who ask too much
and give too little and do wrong things
like laughing.

The back of the door is a circuit switch
and when no ones knocks and checks
she is plugged in and ready for seething.
