Age as it should be

"Give me a hug
then take off your shoes,
your smelly socks too"
Dinner and a movie
A glass of wine
sitting on the porch
Glancing at stars talking
Looking at each other
in silence knowing
"Screw your cane,
I race you up upstairs"
The bedroom inviting
tickling, wrestling
going under in each other
Taking a shower
washing your back
playing....
with the soap
Your smile is my happiness
"Dry off now, Dearest,
and take those teeth out.
Don't worry about gray hair
Let's cuddle and fall asleep"
For breakfast, coffee is ready
A slice of bread, some fruit
Hiding a note *you're mine XO*
in your work folder
"Don't forget to take your pills"
Holding hands, sipping the brew
a few words, some giggles a hug
and we go our ways, for now.
Until the times comes to meet
again - at home, our home.
No matter what, or how old,
we can't seem to slow down
Together you and I,
as time passes....
for us it stands still
because nothing else matters!
This is the love that we share
and the home we built..
