The Lynchpin

The great lynchpin of reason slipped,
Or was it held tighter than before,
So feeling is numbed in its grip.
An august vision of hypnotic design,
Raised up on a kaleidoscope tower
Fastened so particularly fine,
Making clear what industry brings.
Decisions made in the crucible of time,
Guard sanity and help define
The sanctuary of an ageless rhythm and its melodic line
From the unassailable spring of a saviour’s mind.
Raised up on a mythic cross,
Fastened with the lynchpin of infinite need,
That crossed forever with the essential design.

when reason slips sense slips
when reason slips sense slips too. I like your mythic cross idea, holding reason up (that's if I understood it correctly).
