Infinity Pool

This immaculate

Sunday supplement couple,

tanned and healthy

as they lean over the edge

of the infinity pool,

barely trouble the water.

Their flawless backs are turned,

they are the perfect distance

apart,

elbows poised neatly,

they embrace the bay below.

On the page they lounge

as the photographer arranged them.

Perhaps it is their composure

that makes me want to belly flop

and cause a wave that sends them

flapping over the edge for eternity.
