These unwashed,
threadbare shirts
flutter to earth
and flap in packs like
filthy feathered yobs.
Or tissue-thin
old men
shoulders hunched
and huffing on
the edge of things.
Always late
and flustered
over the bargain bin
leftovers, these
scrap-fed lingerers
hang.
