Well, you have a right to your body and the baby is inside of your body. It's private to you what you do with your body.

Legally, there is also habeas corpus.

Abortion is a privacy issue. No one can enter a woman's body without the express permission of the female.

It is not an issue about whether life begins at conception. That's really a Catholic twist on things.

Conception is another term for an "idea." The idea is not the person. This is a misconception. The baby has to be an identifiable baby before it becomes a person.

This is really an existential debate.

As an entire piece of writing, I found it somewhat lacking in understanding as it seems to imply that this - 'An unwanted baby is like an alien living inside of your body.' - is the attitude of each woman, and the single reason for her to make such a difficult decision, and also  that the statement seems there to provoke a controversial debate, made pointless by the opening words.  It's my belief that the piece would be better if edited down to the opening words -  'Abortion is a privacy issue.' I am not prepared to share my personal views on this multi-issue  subject, and it being, as you say, a privacy issue, why would I? I'm not sure you fully understand the term habeas corpus, or of its actual relevance here, but I found your statement, dogmatic and insensitive, but feel loath to tell you this, as it seems you may have a basic lack of understanding in how to deal with sensitive issues in general. No offense meant.

You are right. Bee, I love it when you get offensive.

Habeas corpus, i interpret literally as "you have a right to your body." When you have lost your right, the state takes your body and imprisons you. It is a protection against unlawful imprisonment.

If life begins at conception, then you can be jailed for murder for abortion. You have unlawfully used your body.

I'm saying that abortion is a private issue and that a rapist has unlawfully entered your body. Therefore, the baby is the product of an unlawful intruder. Therefore, it is an alien living inside of your body.

I know this sounds very callous, but I am a vehement supporter of abortion although I am a Christian. In fact, in the Bible, there are a few times when God and perhaps even Jesus supports the idea of privacy in this manner.

Homosexuality is also a privacy issue in my view.

Thank you for your concise critique of my point of view. I do see the shortcomings of my view, but seeing the world and seeing all the players out in the real world and the hostility toward feminists, I really can see why women get abortions. I also know that it is probably a very difficult decision for them.
