You spoke to Abraham,
asked to sacrifice Issac,
to bind him, to give him up
in the meanest fashion to
someone infinitely higher than him...
Abraham loved God.
Issac was to be
the gift of Israel to God
or because Abraham was willing
to sacrifice his son,
his son would be Israel.
God deepened his love
by sacrificing his only son
for the salvation of mankind,
it was an act
which breathed hope
as only extreme deeds could
in such an atmosphere.
It occurred to Abraham,
there was a price to pay
for a nation and a
place, so in came
the spirit of Christ, opening
the door, testing
to see if he would even
attempt to do
what God would later do
with more mercy
than anger.
