Conversations with God 4

Now the religious pecking order in the United States is fairly complex. Americans are a fairly argumentative people and more logos-minded than other cultures. At the same time, most Americans prefer American culture (Hollywood, sports, shopping, parties, and religion) over other cultures. Now personally, I no longer see any need for a nation-state. Culturally, I also see no need for an allegiance to a culture. I consider myself a free-market capitalist (economically), culturally, I am really a blend of European, American, Asian cultures that seems to work for me at the present moment, spiritually, I am a Methodist with a background in the Gnosticism of Carl Gustav Jung and Joseph Campbell. To be truthful, I really am an anarchist. Now to the matter at hand, the religious pecking order. At top are the Theists (Deists). Many scientists and Freemasons are Theists. Theists believe that God created the world and the world was made in the image of God so that we can divine the workings of God in his handiwork. Some Theists or Freemasons may have concluded that government is God, apportioning blame and responsibility, redistributing wealth, etc. I think this is a mistaken belief. There is nothing divine about government. It seems to me that humans, not human institutions were made in the image of God and only need to be more of their actual self to divine the purpose of God. To thine yourself be true, etc. Counterbalancing the Theists are Atheists. Now, not all atheists are spiritless logicians who want to destroy God and recreate man in their own image in their quest for immortality. Some are Gnostic atheists who are quite spiritual. Some are very liberal academics who cannot accept the fact that God exists but have benefitted from the Grace of Life. Some are existential Postmodernists who want to make people responsible for their sins and mistakes and pay for it. You see here how the system is set in America. It is naturally assumed that Theists are on the side of God and Atheists are on the other side, the side of Satan. Now under the Theists are the Gnostics. Gnostics believe that man is becoming God and it is undoubtedly the Gnostics who push the idea of the Christian superman (servant-leadership, etc.). Gnosticism also encompasses an area of willing poverty in order to develop spiritual gifts. Counterbalancing Gnosticism are the Agnostics. Agnostics are not quite sure whether God exists or not. They are stuck in the middle. Sometimes they side with the Theists, sometimes with the Atheists. Now, I want to stress here that I am just expressing dominant structures within American society. American society is becoming more class-oriented but that does not mean that racial differences are not causing any conflicts. Theists, Atheists, Gnostics, and Agnostics may not appear to have much power, but power is not really in numbers. And if we completely let people determine things locally as liberal civil libertarians declare, I really think the US will simply fall apart. Does that contradict my anarchism? No, because there are rational structures that are already in place that will take over the place of the government.
