Death by Water 1

An Asian man just died, his dead body quickly soaked in the river. He was not a light man so the river did not drag his body along with the current.
He lay there with a heavy bottle of Jimmy Bean near his hands. The Jimmy Bean bottle was slowly moving down the river. He lay there with his mouth open towards heaven. His eyes were still and open and still. He looked like he had just seen something, perhaps a squirrel or a bird.
The neighborhood kids arrived at the river. They were looking for crayfish or other small creatures in the river. One of them saw the body and jumped back. He remembered that there was a homeless man who lived near the river. He had seen him reading the newspaper while eating instant ramen noodles. Poor guy. He showed the other kids what he saw and then signaled them to get closer to him. Once they got close enough, they saw the whiskey bottle. The leader of the pack of boys yelled:
-Are you OK?
There was no response. The body lay still in the waters. The only thing moving was the current which rippled around and over the body.
-I don't think he speaks English. He's from China.
-He speaks English. I talked to him a few times.
-What did you talk about?
-He said that he could make a dollar bill disappear. He said that he was a master of magic. Then, he took my dollar and ran away.
-I can't believe you fell for that trick.
-Is he dead or something?
-I don't know. Should we call the police or something?
The boys looked at the body for a while and then his eyes. The eyes were so emotionless and expressionless. They looked like they had seen something, but what that was, the boys could not determine. Maybe they should just run away. Who cared about some bum dying in the river? Who cared about some dead Asian?
