The Investigation

Cindy opened the door.
"Hello. We've been expecting you."
What could this be about? It couldn't be about parking tickets. Her boyfriend smiled. So it wasn't something that she was guilty of. What was it though?
Cindy took a seat on the sofa next to her boyfriend.
"So how can we help you officer? If you need a donation, we'd gladly give what we can."
The female officer smiled: "No, it's concerning a different matter, a very serious matter. To be quite frank, we are investigating a murder. Do you recognize the couple in this photograph?"
The woman in the photograph was stunningly beautiful and she appeared to be so happy. Had she been murdered? Why was she hanging around a guy like that? It's terrible... a young, happy, beautiful woman murdered.
"Do you recognize her face?"
Cindy looked again at the photograph. The surroundings looked familiar. Yes, THAT WAS HER RESTAURANT, SEOUL GARDEN. She could almost see herself in the background. Oh yes. It was last Saturday. She had come in with this strange man. They looked like the odd couple.
"They came into Seoul Garden around 7:30 last Saturday. There was almost a glow around her. She looks so happy and so deeply in love. It's terrible what's happened to her."
The police officer smiled. Her dark long hair was neatly poney-tailed behind her back.
"The man in the picture was murdered that very night. His name was Timothy Tymers."
"Oh," Cindy thought. "Who cares?"
"Did you observe any unusual behavior from the woman in the picture?"
"No, nothing at all. She was all smiles. It was almost a rainbow smile. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be sneaking looks at them and sharing in their happiness. Nothing... unusual."
"When did they leave the restaurant?"
"Around 10."
The police officer now looked at Cindy's boyfriend.
"Did you see her too?"
"I was out with my friends that night, but she looks so familiar somehow. It's hard to say... it's like I've seen her in a movie."
"She's completely disappeared," the officer explained, "No one knows anything about her. No one even knows where she works."
"I did notice something about her though. A few times, I could have sworn that she was studying each and every move that Timothy made, almost like a predator." Cindy just said that even if it wasn't true. There was something about Trisha she really disliked.
"I thought that they appeared to be lovers in the most sublime sense of the word," the officer objected.
"What's the difference between love and murder anyway," Cindy wondered. "Add jealousy and betrayal, and you get a crime of passion."
"Stop it Cindy. Someone has been murdered," her boyfriend objected.
"I'm sorry. Sometimes, I get these strange thoughts. No nothing unusual, but I did sense that she could be an incredibly cold woman. That's what I was stressing. Her eyes... when he wasn't looking, they looked so weary and bored, like Greta Garbo."
The officer smiled.
"Is there anything concrete that you can tell me about this woman?"
"No... I guess not, except that I'm a little jealous of her. She looks almost too perfect," Cindy said. "Is she really a suspect?"
"I think I should leave now. Thank you for your cooperation."
"I'm sorry I couldn't help you more. If any concrete thought visits my mind, I will call you."
"Here is my card. Officer Abrams."
