unsaid things and the mistakes that we make

where do they go?

do they disappear into the mind
of God,
do they simply dissolve?

do they retreat into silence once

so many times
you thought
they wanted a conflicted good,
your goodness,
and all they wanted was
a little amusement, an advertisement,
an appetizer, or a pretend fling.

what about all the questions
you ask God,
are they answered in time or
are the answers too terrifying
to behold,
the face of God is the face of truth.

all the unsaid things,
do they become
the little things that drive
you insane, having
no answers and no place in conversation
they fall into the well of silence
just to sit there
bottomless.

where do they go?
lost in dreams, you succeed
then meet the woman you always wanted to meet
& find her
wanting...
you just wanted happiness.

you meet the man
after you become a CEO
and find
insecurity, defiance
and instability.

One dream realized destroys another...
