Barren Earth

I set the world on fire/to see if you were watching/it should get your attention/it burns so bright it's blinding/Forests turn into ash and/oceans boil down to their floors/until there is no green left/and scorched sand instead of shores/the world is dying 'neath us/and I did it all for you/we'll watch it from the heavens/till that inferno is through

Look at these crumbled cities/rubble strewn across the streets/both beautiful and ugly/paints our view with solemn grey/contrasting an azure sky/a wind stirs up the ashes/it falls just like confetti/celebrating our new love/let's rebuild as we see fit/make the world a perfect place/one without war and hating/without drugs, without faking
