Word War Too
The Maginot Line defences.
Semantics under attack.
Stormtroopers, armed with wrong tenses,
Phonetically firing flak.
Blitzkrieg by poetical panzers
- War of alliteration -
Overran traditional stanzas.
Grammatical capitulation.
Apostrophe escapes for freedom!
Metaphor sentenced to death.
'yphenation - dropped an aitch - bomb.
Tortured vowels gasp for breath.
Nuremberg trials of comprehension,
Heinous literary crimes.
The Geneva Book Convention
Should ban such barbarous rhymes.
