The Weeping Willow

There was once a beautiful old willow tree, which grew down by the river, close to the woods. It was visited from time to time by a lovely sprite, a divine spirit of the woods, and she kept him company in his lonely days, brightening up his lonely existence. Whenever she was around he would bloom with beautiful pink flowers of love, for her spirit and presence, was the essence of his life. And they lived happily alongside the stream of life for many seasons as time stood still, until one cold winter morning, when she and her spirit disappeared into the woods, never to be seen or heard of again. The willow became increasingly sad and lonely without her, and as the years passed his branches started to droop to the ground, and he started weeping for her spirit eternally. He wept as the cold wind danced with his branches, he wept in the summer, and wept in the fall. And still you will find that old willow weeping, out in the wind, under the round, white moon above. Always weeping for the spirit and the love that he had lost.
