Life in Orbit

Not for a second during the day do we experience another's life
Not for a moment do we realise that while we live our own little world
Concealed within our minds
Concealed within our lives
Our own dimension
Not for a second do we ever allow others into our own little world
We may talk as if they are close to us
Orbiting our lives with their presence
But not ever do they see into our world
See through our eyes the beauty and the tragedy of our lives.
Life is beautiful though.
I feel there is no way I can possibly give you what you wish
If what you wish is to see into my world
I can never show you my true thoughts
And tell you exactly how I feel
Without your own world protecting you
Don’t you see that we will always be separated?
Don’t you know that we can never, as you say, truly be one?
I can't give myself to you
I can't give you my world
Forgive me
Your eyes won't like it
And your world won't let you leave
It will always be with you
In your own mind.
So long as your world keeps you here
Keeps you in orbit of my life
And if we must forever be circling in the emptiness of this space
So be it
But I can never let you into my world.
I can describe to you the most beautiful land where myths and legends meet
I can tell you horrific tragedies to beat at your heart where you stand
I can be so close to you that thunder may rain in both our hearts
But I cannot let you see
I cannot let you live here
Locked in my state of mind
And I can't get out
