The Gate

This gate has kept me safe you see

when times were bad it look after me 

to know that it was a lock 

was so reassuring to  me

this gate made be only made of wood and nails

but it kept my world safe 

from all the craziness of the day 

the neighbor like it too

kept them safe

and private too

this gate don't  go away from me 

my hands would be shaking 

if you were taken away from me 

a simple life is all I need 

we have to compromise you see 

but this gate has protected me 

I hope it never leaves me
