A Merry christmas to us all

got the TV on

all the adds are on

it not like years ago

that kind of Christmas is gone

year ago  we had snow

shops shut early

carol singer at the door

people would smile

good old TV show

family around

snow if we were lucky

oh  and then the turkey

rushing around the shops

then staying up all night

  wrapping up  what you got

oh and the cards on the wall

and trying to remember

 how you pack away  your Christmas things

oh and the food

 oh Christmas cheer

but now  silent here

no rushing around

or people near

and the shop don't close early

boxing day they work

and everyone in a rush

omg showing  a holiday add

on the TV

and it not Christmas day  yet

things cost a lot more

people want more

the kids say this and that 

 and the shop are crazy

no carol singers at your door

or snow

and some cards you get in the door

and lonely  and the homeless

all alone

wishing there was a place or someone to call

home.

and the TV is not like it use to be

as for me

i will step back

and in my mind

go back to a time

 when it was more real

and the world was less mad

when people had the time

to knock on there neighbors door

and say are you ok

wont you come around today

well for all of you

at this time of year

just take a moment

to remember

the lost

 the lonely

and those who feel

life not worth being around for

i believe that in this world

at Christmas time

we can bring some joy

weather it just saying hi

there more good people in the world than bad

i am sure of it

it does not have to be a big gift

and simple hello

sometimes

is all it take you know

to give some joy

so merry Christmas to us all
