New year eve

it's another new year eve

and what has this year been to me

it been love and lost

joy and leaving

in all the up and downs

of each day of this year

there been you

what ever  stronge winds there been

there always been you

on a December night

with the cold night air

making everything seem out of time

outside

while i sit by my fireside

i remember those days of summer

when smiles all around

and then the dark cloud fell

and a river of tears came

 then happiness again

then life went on and on

new life

we hear a baby cry

 there smile lighting up our lives

oh tonight when ben big

goes to midnight 

and the firework start

and we toast the new year

sing happy new year

and that Robbie burns tune

i look at you and you look at me

where did it go

let's all hope that the new year

will be  a peaceful one
