No reply

i sent a letter  with no reply i wonder why  you never sent one back 

each morning i look on my front door mat to see if there's one  

laying there

but i stare and there is nothing there 

you never said you were coming back 

you left with a smile 

with your jacket hanging  on your back 

you said see you soon 

as you left the room 

in the bright 

summer afternoon 

now i can't sleep 

and sometimes i weep 

and i got tired feet from waiting by the door 

i think the postman thinks I'm mad 

when i say you got anything for me in your bag 

and he answer me back nothing  today 

oh still no reply from you 

i try to phone  

but the line went dead 

and the operator said 

 the line is dead 

no reply from you 

what is a girl to do 

you left me hanging in the air 

waiting for a reply from you 

my eyes are going square from looking at the door mat there 

now time getting on 

am i tried  and i got sore feet 

so what do I care if i don't  get anywhere

you can go into thin air 

there are much better fish in the sea out there

i got no reply so bye-bye from me
