south African skies

in south African skies i see the birds fly

i see the clouds rolling by 

i see the waves rolling on port Elizabeth shores

and the wind so cold and so wild

it blow sand in my eyes

the sun beats down

so hot on my face

i am getting so many 

sights and sounds

that i never see before

joy and peace

hope and sadness

people on the streets

who don't have enough to eat

little sheds that are someone home

different colour homes

of pink and blue

nothing too high 

just flat roofs that's all i see before my eyes

schools with bars on the windows 

can that really be got to stay safe

there danger out there

you just have to be aware

of where you are and you find peace

kids at school

if they parents cant pay 

the kids have to work and not play

but the joy of it all  a beautiful place

with mountain so high you feel there are touching the sky

and the sunset a wonder to see

the view across the sea

and there is love there 

and hope to .
