Unappreciated Women

Unappreciated Women.
This is for all the women out there, that feel unappreciated.
My wife especially.
I have no doubt that she often feels this way, but really needn't.
There isn't a moment in any day, that I don't appreciate everything that she
does for myself and our boys.
Sometimes it gets over-looked, if we're all busy doing our own thing, but,
never is she out of our thoughts.
I wrote a poem for her when we were first going out, (You Are Me), which
asks: what is the most romantic thing you can say?
"You are me."
It says it all.
She is a large part in the unfinished jigsaw, that is me.
The first night we went out, I told her we would be married.
For those of you who don't know me. If I say something, it's genuinely what
I feel. I knew from that moment, that she would be my wife.
It's now 25 years we've been together, last Summer, and (pain in the arse,
or not), I love her more each year.
This was, maybe, the first serious poem I had written.
You Are Me
Take my heart
But for you, my emotions would not exceed my mind
I would give my life for you
Without you, life would be meaningless
You own me, but will never control me
You hold my love, and life
Now, without you, life would be death
Yet, with you, death would be an eternity of life
You are the light and spark of my very existence
Our love carries another life
Our mind, body and soul shall be Its'
For me, there will be no other
With you, I have found myself
You ask me to say something beautiful
I say, "YOU ARE ME"
