I want to help the youth find out what their gifts are. I need some advice, do you think these questions and scripture will help God’s Children find their gifts? I was thinking about passing these out to the kids at church. Try this your self and see if you can find your gift from God.
Do you know what your gift is from God? After you answer the main questions, I need you to answer these questions so we can see what your gift is.
1.) What do you like to do for fun?
A. Shop
B. Read Books
C. Write poetry, lyrics, or write anything
D. Help people
E. Share encouraging stories
F. Teach others about encouraging topics
2.) What do you think helping people means?
3.) How many people have you helped and were they happy?
4.) Do you think helping people is a good thing or is that being too nice?
5.) Do you love being around your family?
6.) What do you think your talents are?
7.) What is your family best known for?
8.) Do you come up with great ideas? What was one of them?
9.) Would you rather volunteer or work for money?
10.) Is having a positive mindset a good thing? Is having a negative mindset a bad thing?
11.) Are you a selfish person or a caring person?
12.) Who do you look up to and why?
13.) Would you rather go to church or hang with friends?
14.) Why do you go to Church, is it for God or to find friends?
15.) What do you like seeing when you go to church?
16.) Does God comfort us?
17.) Do you read the bible?
18.) What is your favorite scripture? Why is it your favorite scripture?
19.) What do you consider a good thing?
20.) What is a preacher supposed to do that will help people?
21.) What is the definition of the word ¨Gift¨?
22.) What is the definition of the word ¨Talent¨?
23.) What are you known for?
24.) What is your purpose on this Earth?
25.) Why do you think God created you?
Every good gift and every perfect (free, large, full) gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all [that gives] light, in [the shining of] Whom there can be no variation [rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [as in an eclipse]. James 1: 17

Good idea
Good idea Taris this sounds very practical. Certainly there is need for such kind of a questionnaire. I would suggest more of the straightforward practical kinds of questions such as:
What do you like doing?
What are you good at?
Who are your friends?
Who do you like? Why?
You get the idea. Concrete answers, like Yes/No questions. The last few ones you suggest I feel are too deep. The kids really don't have to show it to anyone I mean its's for themselves. You would then cater for more personal things too like religion and feelings I mean it's not like an aptitude test that gets marked by a computer.
This is a very good idea it would help kids to know and feel good about themselves and could give a sense of belonging. It would be great if you could do something like this for a school project hey? They don't show you their answers but maybe just a short interview? You then should do it under supervision of an adult. One has to know there are many things in life apart from religion.
You must be really careful here to stay to exactly what you hope to achieve: To help kids discover and know their given talents, so they may each be used for the purpose God meant for them. Not more nor less.
I've spoken too much. All the best! Let us know if you do this! & Nolan

A project
Why only the kids, like you say the older teenagers too and other young people, but why not for grown-ups as well? If you say that you want to be a journalist this would be a brilliant idea for a project even if it's just for yourself. As for other churches, schools etc I'd hang on a bit. First try it out at yours, if it's Ok then try others.
The big thing with kids is to be sure they do actually understand the questions!
This whole story about the gifts has made me really think about what my own talents are and
I must say it is a worthwhile exercise. There would be differences in opinion but I might not necessarily want to hear it.
I am a noble friend. I am a good listener and have compassion and patience. Most people think I have a good sense of humour. I may have a talent for music but definitely not for singing and dancing, I was informed of that by a doctor and in no uncertain terms.
I’m good at writing, I’m a hard worker and have perseverance. Of course there are others too. Now I'd guess next would come the actual hard work, applying the talents, and no excuses!
My best wishes Taris! God bless! &&
