In order to be a rapper you have to know how to write poetry. Poetry is just words without a beat unless you make it into a beat your self. See, the music we have today doesn't have a meaning to it. What happend to the music that we can relate to? I like rappers that talk about real life stuff and I like rappers who know what other people feel. For example, some people hate on Eminem but, he is the best rapper out here. Some of his music I can relate to and when I listen to it I feel his pain. I like music like Wale's and people are always criticizing wale, for what reason though? One of wale songs is called ¨Bad¨ a lot of people can relate to it. I'm sure there are people out in this world who do the exact thing he was talking about in his song. That's if you take a chance to listen to it. One of Eminem songs that I really like is called ¨Monster¨ ft. Rihanna. We all have that monster under our bed no matter what age we are. Another rapper/singer I can relate to is Drake and I hate that people say his music is depressing. But, to be honest his music has a meaning which are dealing with people relationships. Drake's music will always have you thinkning. I love rappers that can relate to our personal life's. I try to write poetry that relate's to other people as well. If people don't understand what you're talking about, they're not going to look at your work. I have a feeling that they have some type of poetry in their closet or drew. Do you agree with me?

You are right about rap being
You are right about rap being a form of poetry, Taris.
Eminem is painful and also very angry, I like him because he helps me understand male violence. Male violence or any violence is always wrong however Eminem helps me understand how an immature and aggressive man can hit a woman and then blame the woman, believing that 'you made me do it.' One Chance from Eight Mile Fence is one of his more positive songs.
If you have time you may like Gil Scott Heron. He is sometimes called 'the godfather of rap'. Elsie
