Your Vote Counts?

When the world around you trembles,
To the politicians voice.
And the ballot box is waiting,
But there isn't any choice.

Do you cast your vote for freedom?
For our troops in foreign lands.
Who give there lives so freely,
In the deserts burning sands.

Do you vote to save the planet?
The ice caps and the trees.
Or will you vote for fat cat bankers?
Who almost brought us to our knees?

Will you vote for independance?
Devolution for the Scots.
Free prescriptions, hospital parking.
And those dreaded winter shots.

Do you vote for education?
And our ailing national health?
Or do we leave it to the chancellor,
To squander all our wealth?

Or will you vote away your future?
By living in the past.
Then go ahead and cast your vote,
Pin your colours to the mast!
