She stared at the door, praying he'd walk through it at any minute. Tears rolling down her face, praying her accusations weren't true. That the phone calls were lies, and that he wasn't out doing what she feared.
She looked at the pictures on the wall, smiles. What lies, if they were really happy then why was she sitting here, red-faced and teary-eyed?
The door opened, and in he walked, tie undone, and shirt unbottoned.
She stood, and he brushed right by here, a sweet perfume rose to her nose, and tears spilled from her eyes once more.
He stopped and turned, "What is it?"
"You were out there, with her...." she sputtered out, in mere syllables.
"What are you talking about, Angie?" he looked at her coldly.
"You were out there with her! Don't think I'm stupid!" Angie shouted, "Your wearing her perfume!"
He was silent.
"I want the truth, Dan!" she screamed, "And I want it now!"
He sighed, "I'd hope it wouldn't come to this, Angie." he sighed, then with a quick movement he had her pinned against the wall, "Don't scream, Angie."
She pushed him with all she could, but still she was pinned. "Get away!"
He then hit her, with a powerful blow, it sent her falling to the ground in simultaneous tears.
She screamed and wailed, "Why! Why!"
"You don't understand me anymore, Angie!"
"Dan! Why!"
"I don't love you anymore!" Dan yelled, "I haven't loved you for quite some time!"
Angie fell silent, then lay there tears spilling to the ground, "Then why do you tell me you love me?"
"I was afraid to be honest, afraid to hurt you." Dan sighed.
"Then there must be something there," Angie sat up, "If you didn't want to hurt me, there must be some feelings left for me!"
"No!" he yelled, then with a lowered voice, "It's common courtesy."
Angie's eyes fell, and her heart sank, "Then why cheat? Why couldn't you just divorce me and get it over with?" anger rose in her voice as she stood, "Why!"
"It was the easiest way!" Dan said.
Angie turned, then walked to a nearby table. And began openning one of the drawers, she had seen Dan put a hand held gun in this drawer when the neighborhood dogs haf been tearing through the front yard. She held it now, hidden from sight.
"Who was she?"
"Who was who?" Dan asked.
"The woman you cheated on me with?" Angie turned, gun still hidden.
"You don't know her."
"Tell me this," Angie started, "All the times we made love since you've been cheating, and all the times we laughed, were you thinking of her?"
Dan fell silent.
"Answer me!" she shouted.
Still Dan said nothing.
"Tell me!" Angie screamed.
"Yes." Dan said.
Angie pulled the gun and pulled the trigger, Dan's body fell.
Not long after, the cops pulled in, neighbors had heard the shot. They came in to find Dan lying there, wrapped in Angie's arms, Angie crying, and the gun slung five feet away from the two.
Dan died while in the hellicopterride to the hospital.Angie was trialed for murder, and got sentenced to life in prison.
