I wonder if you could do something a bit different, I said to the hairdresser.

I’ll try, they said, scissors open to ideas.

There’s only one way I can really understand what you want, the hairdresser said. I would have to enter your mind, go through your memory, find the dream in question and identify the style you desire.

Which is how I came to be possessed by my hairdresser.

The upside is I’m now really good at cutting hair.
