For Arwen

She has gone now.
Like the foam of the tide she grew from ocean depths,
and rode on crests of life.
On tops of waves that can be harsh and cold, bleak and vast,
but momentarily show strength then beautiful
when curled under, buckle and go forth.
She reached for the solid bank of sand,
but dissolved into grains of memories
for you to try and hold.
Some slip through your innocent fingers as you drag them along the shore.
Lie on your back in the ocean and she will be beneath you
supporting your future weight,
but transferring shivers of cold sadness into your connected blood.
Look up and she will be above you,
rescuing you from your isolation.
Gently rocking you with her calming momentum
She lulls your solid flesh to lie in her everlasting ocean of fluid love.
