subtle things,
meant far more to him
than all the worldly praises
that are tossed to the wind.

A note in his pocket,
her picture in a book,
a humorous short story,
Or a quick, silly look.

She knew that small things,
subtle things
made him love her more
than all the flashy moments
they had no reasons for.
