Beyond us

Sometimes, I ponder
What lies beyond our earth?
For, how will we know,
If we haven’t searched?
Beauties, terrors, wonders?
I wonder if there is something greater,
Than us.
I hope for something greater than us.
For we are prone to ignorance
And lies.

If there are others out there
I pray that they
Aren’t as deceitful as us.
As cruel and degrading.
But I hope that they can be
As benevolent and mindful,
As only some of us are on this planet.
Sometimes, I wonder
What lies beyond this earth?
