Sequoia Dendron
Humongous, ancient, scarce and coppery-brown
Son of Cupressaceae
Lover of sunshine, aqua and breezes
Who feels snug during the summer, barren when autumn comes, and chilly in the winter
Who loves oxygen, beauty, and wonder
Who fears the crack of lightning, the red hot flames of fires, and the mechanic sound of a chainsaw roaring to life
Who would like to see more of his kind, less of his brethren taken down and killed, and man coming towards him without the intent of using him as many of his friends have been used.
Who lives in the groves of the Sierra Nevada Mountains
Giganteum
5 W's Poem

Violet-crowned Wood nymph
Darts through the air
Heading for Guatemala
On a hot sticky day
Homebound
Line Poem
Deer in the Wood
In the woods I dash through the trees
In the woods I prance in a stream
In the woods I lay in the meadow
In the woods I lean down to eat the vibrant green grass
In the woods I slurp the cool, clear spring water
In the woods I fall asleep under the flawless starry sky
Who am I?
In the woods is my home
In the woods are my friends
In the woods we play and are merry
In the woods we see a man
In the woods we hear a vroom! And then a terrifying crash
In the woods we frantically gallop, afraid
In the woods we hear more and more crashes
Who am I?
No longer in the woods is my home
No longer in the woods do I sleep
No longer in the woods are my friends
No longer in the woods do I eat
No longer in the woods do I live
Who am I?
No longer in the woods I am scared
No longer in the woods I see my friends around me, dying
No longer in the woods I see few and few of my kind
No longer in the woods I fear for my life
No longer in the woods I feel myself grow weak
Who am I?
In the woods I was safe
No longer in the woods I am vulnerable
In the woods others of my kind were plentiful
No longer in the woods they are dwindling
In the woods I was strong, healthy
No longer in the woods I lay down and breathe my last breath thinking,” How much longer until there are none of us left?”
Who am I?
