Oh Anna, Anna Appletree
Of beauty unsurpassed.
She taught me how to breathe again
When they said I'd breathed my last.
She came to me when all was lost
When my whole world was black.
She smiled so I could see again
And gave my meaning back.
She taught me I could love again
When they said my blood ran cold.
And showed me how to live again,
For futures still untold.
Oh Anna, Anna Appletree
I thought my days were done.
I thought that I had lost the race
But now I see I've won.
