Everything After the fact
Words said, you can't remember,
Smoking fire, everlasting ember.
A stone thrown, ripples the pond,
words grown, fester a hateful bond.
White snow screaming back,
brown liquid fading us to black.
A thought that went wrong,
your touch playing a hurtful song.
It's everything after the fact,
you expect my sanity to stay intact.
Your actions have cut me deep,
my eyes will forever weep.
I can not say, what it is you've wasted,
I can not explain the shame I have tasted.
Wiping the floor with my tears,
you have become my own worst fear.
Ripples in the water after a stone is thrown,
rocking the boat into darkness unknown.
Your actions send shockwaves through my soul,
your attitude is taking a huge toll.
No consequences for the actions you weild,
no advanced notice to put up my sheild.
My walls have crumbled once more,
leaving my sanity crumpled on the floor.
It's everything after the fact,
you have no memory, I have nothing intact.
You can't be happy with yourself,
so you make me your mental shelf.
I am not the pond, you cannot throw your stone,
The ripples you have made, have since grown.
The underlying current has shifted and risen,
wreaking havoc, creating my prison.
Your addictions make me scream,
your words have been extreme.
No thoughts for what you've said,
you can't remember, so they're dead.
I am insane, you are right,
nothings wrong, it's black and white.
I am at fault, your never to blame,
I am the cause of all your shame.
It's everything after the fact,
my sanity was never intact.
Your words have burned my heart,
a spark that could tear your world apart.
The stone rippling at such a cost,
will you realize what you have lost?
The words you have said made a pact,
but thats all right, it's everything after the fact.
