"In A Minute."

We often say, “In a minute,” When asked to do something or to come here, but how long is a minute?
For all our minutes are different, my Husbands’ minute is from ten minutes to an hour, to “Sorry I forgot.”
My minutes is counted by my Husband, “It took you one minute and thirty seconds to get here.”
I too have forgotten, and taken ages to do something or go somewhere, when I’ve said, “In a minute.”
So, how about you? How long is your minute, for we don’t really mean, in a minute, as that’s sixty seconds.

A very common problem. I
A very common problem. I remembered a bit of fun I had quite a while ago writing about various sayings like that, including 'I'm just coming' as he shoots off somewhere first! Rhiannon

Where I live people always
Where I live people always say, 'see you later.' To me that means on that day, but to them it could mean next week, next month, next year or maybe not at all. I will never understand.
But I know what you mean about the minute saying.
Another saying my partner uses is; just down the road. When he could be talking about a place that's miles away.
Jenny.
