A Perfect Day

The kids didn't argue before school.
Wrote a Story on ABCTales before I went to work.
New Worker Shadowed me all day and couldn't believe how hard I worked, I wasn't looking forward to it but it turned out better than I'd expected and had actually enjoyed it and do did she.
The petrol light came on as I got into the car to take my family to the dentist, would we have enough to get us there and back?
The kids who usually takes ages to return for school, had arrived 30 minutes before me so we could drive the many miles for our dentist check-up, I was dreading the rush hour traffic, but we got there with 5 minutes to spare.
All of us, no fillings! No clean and polish!
Will I have enough petrol to get us to the petrol station? The traffic is worse now, stop start, stop start. I can see the petrol station, will I make it? Yes! Made it! Five pounds in will I have enough money on my card, or is our account empty.......
Card accepted! (Phew)
At the shops now, we need bread, milk and sugar. Do I use self-service or check out which would be less embarrassing if my card is rejected for there is a queue at both. I choose check-out, “No cash back, thank you” I just hope enough money in my account, I read the words “card accepted, remove card” (phew again).
After a lovely simple meal, I watched a film on the TV. Felt safe and warm and nodded off.
The kids didn't moan when I said “Bed Time.”
I fancied some baileys and had some with ice.......
I decided to have an early night, for a change. I got into to bed and thought of my day, it's strange to say this, but for me it was.
The perfect day.
