Hello Paul! I will give an answer for my Challenge very soon. Hope I've got it right! It's harder than it looks.

It doesn't sound as if you progressed I wonder if anyone really tried. There are lots of boffins out there.

The Challenge … The problem looked routine to me I was quite confident I could find a general formula but in the end I didn't manage, tried the method of generating functions, a few times I thought I was close but every time I had failed I spent some time trying. It seemed impossible. Then resorted to browsing the internet.

I had hoped for a formula like the well known arithmetic and the geometric sequence. To my surprise it as I had it in mind, cannot be done. Although nowhere I found it was clearly stated as such.

For this a simple sum it just shows you although I am quite sure finding the infinite sum itself is not hard. Some elementary series tests do show the series converges.
