Mountain salute

TV swill inside my head

yearn to follow adamantine thread

Take the ferry across to Goat Fell

where invigorating things dwell:

chuckling Corrie Burn

whirling terns,

kittihawks on the royal blue bay.

Feel alive, heart hammering climbing the stony way

Beige scrub speckled with pink tinged heather

Other avian delights, golden eagle soaring to treasure ?

At the summit,

islands of many hues, dizzy rocky cliff plummets

to the eeling river below

Later on sandy beach meet a stout robin fellow,

joyfully he flutes,

red faced I mountain salute
