A flatlining heart monitor
sounds like the silence in my ear.
Crouched over me like a vulture,
It's the silence that roots the fear.
When silence splinters, it's a relief,
At least it's not all in my mind.
Being insane is my main concern,
At least now my fear isn't blind.
Glowing eyes peer from the unknown,
A rumbling distils in the air.
It want me to rise, investigate...
It's not a warning, it's a dare.
I stand up and reach for the light,
so as to flood out the darkness.
The fear turns into affection,
The rumbling, a purring caress...
