Infinite Sky

Michael stared blankly out across the sea,
If he had his own wings, perhaps he could flee.
But sadly earth bound he was, at least for now,
Though in time it would change, somehow.
The sky seemed so infinite, as endless could be,
His memories all he had to show that once he was free.
My family live beyond those clouds, he thought,
They have found the key to life itself, if only it was him they sought.
But sadly, lost to them he was, not just in space, but in time,
In a world he could be God, but instead he moves with the chime.
Ding he follows the wind, dong he follows the rain,
When the sky changes, he follows the clouds again.
There is no rest here, the sky changes like a shape shifter,
A puzzle with infinite outcomes, one shaped cloud blends in with a drifter.
As the light of day fades, and the stars begin to shine,
He sits and smiles at the star he calls home & he knows one day, he'll be fine.
