The Memorial Tree

Of all the things in life,
That you can have and hold.
Of all the friendships shared,
With loved ones young and old.
Their names upon the baubles,
Hung up on the memorial tree.
A sweet and simple reminder,
Of our friends now flying free.
They're brought to mind this Christmas,
At a time that they once shared.
In a year that's filled with sadness,
We can show them that we cared.
It's a chance for them to sparkle,
On a starry moonlit night.
A shimmering reflection,
Like an angel taking flight.
Always in our hearts and minds,
Perhaps a moment we can smile.
As we stand around this special place,
And think of them awhile.

Yes, I really liked this. I
Yes, I really liked this. I often look back, reflect on the many faces in my past and think of them. What scares me is that as I pass, so will the images and memories also. Despite my efforts I cannot truly preserve them. Your baubles are indeed those images and thoughts I hold so dear.
