He stood on the corner
With cornflakes in his hand
Long rain coat wrapped him
And suspicion on his mind
He munched on a cornflake
And raised an eyebrow
Checked over his shoulder.
In case they’d found out.
Approaching with caution
He stepped onto the road
Crossed the grey cobbles
And stopped at the phone
There was no message there
So it was quite clear
Onwards and forwards
With a tremble of fear
Under the window
He crouched down low
Crunched another flake
With a creased brow
Alarmed at the bell
He ducked out of sight
But knew he must face
The wrong and the right
So he stepped to the door
Despite being late
And went into school
For his educational fate.
