In the end nothing will matter

When it ends, it will not matter
That roses grow upon the briar
That roots spring leaves on the upturned tree
That prayers are answered or there's redemption
When it all ends, it will not matter
That from inside swollen bellies
The grub feeds on the famished child
Or vultures polite will wait for life to leave before the feast
When it all ends, it will not matter
That evil is not good or we should do this and not that
For nothing will matter
As we would have redefined if not refined everything that matters
In the end, to not matter

As the planet regenerates
As the planet regenerates without us.
I can see that your thought provoking words describe the way the world is going.

Dark despair indeed; I hear
Dark despair indeed; I hear the depth of hopelessness in your poem and it is definitive, no strike left for redemption here. But I hope your words are not prophetic as the optimist I am will always look for that one lone ray of hope.
