The tree of life starts at the root
A Baby's cry, a kicking womb.
The sapling grows while childhood lasts,
Youthful promise of a future grace.
While spring plays on, with vibrant strength
Young life as yet untried and unaware -
Young adult sampling the joy of each new day
Unconstricted by the thought of slowing down.
In Summer, every pinnacle is touched
Potential realised, a joy beholden here.
At last, circle nearly complete - the Autumn of our lives
Until Winter stalks us inevitably in our beds.
