Who allowed you to stop?

Be practical

What will people say!

If they realize you can't afford an SUV

Or a bungalow in Malibu Bay?

"Stop!" screams the child within

"Talk to me," says your heart

"I'll show you the path," says your intuition

Don't give up on your art!

I stop and ponder

Torn between my heart and my bills

"Baby steps," I tell myself

Don't at once go against all the mountains and hills.

I start with keeping an hour aside a day

For my soul to drink 

The sweet nectar of the universe

Before daily life brings it again to the brink.

Slowly my soul recovers

My heart and the universe talk to me a little more

I catch stories that were waiting to be told

Against the whims of the society I stop keeping score.

My heart now speaks to me daily

As I walk the path that was written for me

My intuition surprises me with its insights

From the world I no longer flee.

One step after the other

I pave my way on the path rarely tread

With fellow adventurers who gave up on the world's whims

Together, we changed our world instead.
