3 Conjuring Ideas - Magic Mirascope Cauldron AND Mirascope Secret Passageway AND Infinity Mirror Vanishing Box (Conjurors may already use these methods but I haven’t stolen the ideas, they are inspired by the Toys/Novelty Objects available in shops)

A. Conjuring Idea – Magic Mirascope Cauldron
- Effect: Children look down into the opening of a cauldron and see objects appear; disappear and change each time a children’s entertainer waves his hands over the cauldron.
- Reason: The bottom of the cauldron is actually the opening at the top of a mirascope (parabolic mirror toy) which creates the illusion that whatever is placed under the cauldron is inside the cauldron.
- But they would see that it’s an illusion wouldn’t they?: If they have to look downwards into the cauldron to see the object then they won’t see it from the side and when you look straight down at a mirascope that is when you see the 3-D illusion.
- And how do the objects vanish/change? : Each time the children’s entertainer waves his hand over the opening of the cauldron; either an assistant switches the object under the cauldron (in the mirascope) or there is a mechanical device which substitutes one object for another.
- Also: Doing the same trick with a person in a pit – Perhaps you could also have a magician’s assistant vanish from the bottom of a pit by making an artificial pit with a bottom that is actually the opening at the top of a huge mirascope. The audience, looking down into the pit, would be forced to look down in it and would not be able to see it from the side.
B. Mirascope (Parabolic Mirror) Magic Doorway/Portal/Secret Passage Way OR Mirascope Safe OR Conjurors Sphere
Secrete Passage way - Inside a giant mirascope is a circular segment of concrete and, as mirascopes do, the mirascope creates the illusory 3-D reflection of the circle of concrete infront of it. Then the giant mirascope is placed behind a concrete wall that has a circular hole in it so that the illusory reflection of the circular concrete segment fills and disguises the hole with the reflection. Now either a magician or spy, if they know where the illusion is, can appear to walk, like a ghost, straight through the wall.
Mirascope Safe – On a smaller scale (than the secret passageway), a safe could be built containing a mirascope that hides the entrance to the safe behind an illusory reflection
Mirascope Magicians Sphere (Or Box)-
A magician has a metal sphere (or box) with a hole in it but the sphere (box) contains a mirascope with a piece of metal sphere (box) inside it, the 3D reflection created by the mirascope covers up the hole in the sphere (box) so that a magician can pass objects through the hole and it will appear, to a spectator as if they are passing objects through solid metal.
C. Conjuring Idea – Infinity Mirror Vanishing Box
1. Effect:An empty transparent box is rotated and, as it is rotated, a magicians assistant appears in it. It is rotated again and she disappears.
2. Reason: The first face of the box is actually an ‘infinity mirror’. It looks like it has depth but it is actually just flat and thus the audience thinks they are looking into the box. Then when the box is rotated to another face they can actually see inside the box and, when the magicians assistant disappears again it is because the box has been rotated back to its ‘Infinity Mirror’ face.
