The Alchemy Of Autumn

The alchemy of Autumn is so awesome to behold,
transforming elm and sycamore from emerald to gold;
the Weeping Willow's crying
stops as tear drops turn to flames;
Oaks become golden lions
at which bright Orion aims
and, befitting its name,
in colours beautiful and brash,
spreading wide wings of flame,
a phoenix explodes from the Ash
but then, my trembling leaf-like heart
feels a strong gust take hold
and, soaring, spinning and dancing with joy,
it also turns to gold.
