To a book mite

Little book mite, munching on a page;
chewing sayings by some ancient sage;
while you’re busy feasting on a book
don’t you ever stop to take a look
at the pretty words which you devour;
all the poems about hearts and flowers;
tales of love, adventure and suspense
or facts about this world that’s so immense?
You might learn something, never can tell.
You might be munching through a magic spell;
one that would make you mighty among mites;
why don’t you take a look before you bite
through one more word, sentence or paragraph;
you might just read a joke that makes you laugh,
like this small poem that I wrote for you;
some words for you to think about or chew.

Naughty book mites making
Naughty book mites making our books look shabby, munching all those pages; don't they realise the hard work put in, and that it took the writer ages!!
