Once a choir gathered in the forest to practice for an easter celebration and they sang so well that even the birds stopped their singing to listen to them.
Unfortunately, nearby there lived an evil old witch who hated singing; infact she hated music of any kind and, because the singing was distracting her from studying her evil spells, she picked up her magic wand and, pointing it out of her window, turned all of the choir singers into frogs.
"That'll teach them to disturb me", she said with an evil smile before returning to her studying.
Unfortunately, before long, the witch was disturbed again, this time by a choir of frogs croaking as loudly as they could.
"Gahh!", said the witch angrilly, putting her hands over ears, "I can't even hear myself think with that croaking going on".
And so, picking up her wand again, the witch went over to her window and pointing it at the croaking choir now she turned them into little white mice.
"There", she said, happily, seeing the mice scurrying around, "Now they'll be as quiet as a mouse".
And putting down her wand again, the witch went back to studying her spell book.
Unfortunately for the witch however, the mice were not quiet, infact they were just as noisy as they had been before only this time, instead of croaking they were squeaking.
"Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!", they went all together like singers in a mouse choir.
"Oh this will never do", said the witch, irritably, pulling the brim of her pointy hat down over her ears.
And so, this time, determined to solve her noise problem once and for all, the witch went to her window again and, pointing her wand at the mice, turned them all into buzzing flies.
"There", she said, "Now buzz off and leave me in peace".
And this time, putting down her wand again and returning to her spell book, the witch was sure she wouldn't have any more disturbance.
But the witch couldn't have been more wrong for not only did the flies make a loud buzzing noise, they gathered together in a big swarm and flew down the witches chimney.
"Aaargh!", cried the witch as the flies came buzzing out of her fireplace towards her.
Infact they chased the witch all round her room and when the witch tried to pick up her magic wand a fourth time, the buzzing swarm swooped down on it and stung her hand before she could touch it.
Then the swarm picked up the magic wand with tiny fly hands and, suddenly there was a bright purple flash, a big puff of green smoke and a loud bang and, when the smoke had cleared, the witch saw that all the flies in the swarm had changed back into choir singers.
"Now", said the choirmaster, pointing the witches wand towards her, "We'll see how you like it".
But the witch, frightened of being turned into something horrible, got down on her knees and started to beg, "Oh please! Please! Have mercy upon a poor old woman".
And so the choir master, taking pity upon the witch, only pointed the wand at her heart, changing it from a heart of evil to a heart that was good and, not only that, a heart that loved music.
And after that, rather than hating the choir, the witch joined them.
Infact she became the best singer they had ever had.
