1st Verse:

 

High, up in the night,  are glittering cogwheels;
bright gears over light years bring light to us all.
Down, from winter skies, come trillions of cogwheels;
white cogwheels of snowflakes that spin as they fall.

 

Chorus:
And all our hands are cogwheels too
and all our hearts and minds
what wonderful things it can do
the great machine of mankind.

 

But that machine can only run
as it has been designed
if all mankind will work as one
then you will see how it shines.

 

2nd Verse:

 

Up, into the sky, climbs a big golden cogwheel;
the wheel of sun burning and turning the earth.
Then, out of the soil, come colourful cogwheels
the cogwheels of flowers; of coiled springs rebirth.
